In the blink of an eye... Frightening Accidents/Near Misses

Granted, most of these accidents are in Russia (or the likes) and are in adverse road conditions, but not even the most experienced driver could avoid some of these incidents. Just goes to show how things can materialise in the blink of an eye

https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...&v=oFkw5JFOmHk

Some truly frightening moments and some accidents obviously resulted in people being killed or seriously injured

Surely anyone with sense would drive the car to the conditions on the road?

From the look of some of those clips, I don't think everyone will have walked away in one piece.

I watched a few of these yesterday. most were not as lucky as in your video Squintstream. Does the whole of Russia have cameras in their cars?

EDIT. I watched the whole video. Some of those are just mental

Bloody hell, some of those are horrendous, the ones where the cars set on fire - worst nightmare. Also, the ones where you can see a car hurtling towards you and you're helpless, they're awful too.

Winter tyres anyone??

Having being driven around Russia a few times, it seems most drivers with decent cars do indeed have the camera setup in their cars. It also seems a lot of drivers just drive around at frightening speeds, taking unecessary risks and do not adjust their driving style to the weather conditions.

Due to the sheer amount of accidents and minor bumps, it makes it a lot easier to settle claims with the hard drive camera, instead of the normal "he said, she said" routine! Presuming the other party has insurance and you're not subjected to crashes like some in the video.

Definitely many many fatalities there.

The E30 touring crash is an old one. You should search out the whole footage. The petrol tanker they hit EXPLODED.

I like Del have always wondered why so many of these are caught on camera.

Always buy the safest car you can afford....

A lot of people have video cameras on their cars in Russia because of all the fraud that goes on say if someone backs up into you and says that you rear ended them, you can use the recording as evidence. Smart idea to buy one guys

Shows the importance of having good tyres. And also driving to the conditions!

It's amazing the amount of pedestrians who seem to cross without even looking.

absolutely horrific, just shoiws how one minute you can be driving along minding your own business and the next it's game over.

The worst by far in the first video is the car at 4:24, anyone notice the red splodge under the lorry's rear wheels? Horrible!

A lot of insurance fraud and people faking accidents or causing accidents in Russia, hence why there are so many car cams. A lot of them are apparently put in by insurance companies.

Also to note that we in Canada have terrible winters and I have seen nothing like this here. A lot of us actually put on winter tires though and drive reasonably. It seems a lot of Russian etc. drivers just suck at driving. It's an epidemic there!
