e92, does it have panic button?
I just recently (about a month ago) received my 328i coupe and i was wondering if it has a panic button. i used to have a c320 and i would use the panic button to find my car in the parking lots. ingenious, i know, lol. anyway, my cousin has a 745Li and she has a panic button. i also noticed that by pressing the unlock button for more than 3 seconds the windows go down; hold it a bit longer and the sunroof opens as well. Unfortunately you cant close it.
anyone else notice this? here is a pic of the 7's key i would post a 3's key, but after all, this is E90POST. ps. sorry if there is another topic already on this but i couldnt find it, so i posted one myself. thanks. |

From page 20 in the manual:
Switching on interior lamps While the car is locked: Press the button. You can also use this function to locate your vehicle in parking garages etc. Panic mode You can also trigger the alarm system if you find yourself in a dangerous situation: Press the button for at least three seconds. To switch off the alarm: press any button. But there is no standard alarm, so this last paragraph is misleading.

^^ yes..you hold the trunk button down for 3 secs or more IF you have the factory alarm installed and the alarm will sound. holding the unlock key will open the windows and sun roof. ONLY in europe i have heard that it can be programmed to close by holding the close button through the dealership but i have yet to hear any NA dealership doing the same..
