That was my initial reaction as well. If it is legit, it was done by folks who had a good working knowledge of what was in the car/chassis/engine block.

Yeah, Cops wont do shit about this unless they are lucky enough to catch the ring. Just be certain to file the police report. I dont know why people think it takes so long to remove those items. A non pro could do it quickly if they are familiar with the parts. I DIY for the most part and can remove those parts quickly.

Such stupid speculation in this thread. Shit happens. Highly doubt the thieves knew you. They simply knew that airbags, headlights, side mirrors can all be sold easily for good money. And I doubt this was their first BMW. As for noise, the only thing that would have been noisy would be breaking in. And they probably only made noise while punching a small hole in the sheet metal and then used tin snips or a small pry bar to peel it open.
