Wish I would have gotten a Clear Bra! :(
Ok, So my langka came in yesterday, and my touch up paint is coming tomorrow, So I decided to mark the places I was planning on painting. And ouch ! I am going to be painting all day!! Some are just white flecks, but some are pretty bad (only a true car enthusiasts would see them though) ! I might as well do them all while I am at it. I really really wish i would have gotten the clear bra. I even have chips on my roof, rear view mirror, and A pillar!
I took my car once to a local detailer about a year ago, (and never will again) to do some touch up work, and turns out I got the 17 year old kid to paint it. Looked horrid, paint was way too dark!! So now I am going to do it myself wit OEM paint!! Wish me luck!! |

Also had mine since Apr 2005 but I only have 3 spots I'd even think of touching up. I do mainly motorway driving.

Oh man! That's a lot of spots!!
I'm afraid to check mine...I'm down on Hatteras and there are so many bugs on the car that they probably cover the chips

Just for fun, here's my nautical E90: Edit: I guess I should add this to the shark-fin thread of 2005.

I'm about to hit 28k...as far as I know, our miles are the same as the UK...I know gallons are different but our miles are 5280 feet.

I took delivery a day after a snow and ice storm, in DALLAS.
Two co-workers wanted a ride. Frig'n gravel from city trucks munched my front end. I was shaking when the crap was pelting my car. Turned around. Too late. Had little pings all over the front end. Applied oem touch up. Looks like barf. I feel your pain. I was the numb nuts who said ok, let's go. I knew better. Wha'da you do?

I figure I can get it cheaper and have faster recourse if for some reason the install is sub-standard. I've got some names just looking for confirmation that they're legit.
My current SAAB looks like ass due to all the rock-chip damage on the front spoiler.

Good luck oneshare! Wow you must be one of the first people to get the E90s when they first came out huh? We couldn't take delivery until May, 6 here. And I have 21000 miles now!

It is what the parts department sold me. It looked ok. After it dried it is darker. Stopped and did not paint any of the other ones. Clear coated only. There may be different TiAg's not sure. I would test a low one first.

damn man! good luck with the touch up! do you drive in the winter? i find that highway driving in the winter with all the salt on the road really kills your front end, my dad got a brand new car back in november and it already has multiple rock chips in the hood and bumper.

Langka's probably the best way to go with that many. You might want to mark the largest chips and reduce the number to repair. Do those with the Langka system and then take a look at which ones still stand out. You might be happy to see that you don't see as many of the smaller chips or spots that way and you can reduce your workload.
Beautiful garage setup by the way!
