Modding PC's thats the sillest thing I've ever heard! Don't see the attraction in that at all, each to their own.

I build this computer about 4 years ago...then gave to my bro' after college. I bought a cheap white computer case and did the following mods:
1) Blue and gray metallic paints (first pic only had 1 coat and the rubber holding the acrylic window was too short) 2) Took the "legs" of an old VCR and screw them at the bottom of the case 3) Jigsaw the side panel to install the acrylic window 4) Sound dampening foam for all case panels 5) UV sensitive lights with Fan/Cables UV reactive Now I just have an aftermarket case (last pick) as a Mac clone Last edited by CV335; 03-05-2009 at 02:12 AM.. |

I built my own PC from scratch.
Not sure if that counts as 'modified'. I've never felt any desire to put neon lights on it, I justed wanted to be able to play f.e.a.r on high settings |

Computer/electrical engineer...can't help it :P
I did this one for the fun of it...my college roommates were in engineering too LOL. But yeah...I was into 1st person shooters like Unreal Tournament, etc. Good "old" days. |

yeah geeky, but means the games run well - Fallout 3 was just a dream.
I'd post up a picture of mine, but then that WOULD be geeky... p.s. don't you just LOVE the Atlantic cousins, when they can't work out what and where they're reading lol.. SJ |

I've gone about it a slightly different way ...
My normal day-to-day machine is not too special, but I have networked it with 5 other Quad core machines Giving me 24 cores of nippy computing power (on the hyper-threaded multi-core software I have). The lights dim in my office block when I get down to some computing. Other days when I am programming ... they are left switched off. D.

I made a PC out of a wooden bread bin so it would blend into the kitchen better.

He's married with no kids... very nice guy actually, an electical engineer by trade too I think.
He's definitely obsessed, but then when I compare his costs to what I've spent on the BMW it's less than 1/10 so now I feel stoopid ;P SJ |
