I'm a sucker for both and they both look great. For me when I first picked up my E90 I looked at it from a practicality stand point. The spacious cabin helped when I need to move things and had to buy a lot of stuff. Now that I have a truck, I'm looking to switch over to a E92 M because of the lines and of course the Liberty Walk Kit. Haha.

normally i would say e90 m3 because it looks so sexy but the e92 is 2 years newer and it has that gorgeous CF roof. Also i cant stand the pre lci tail lights on the e90 m3

I would say the E90 so you stand out more over the sea of E92s out there but it's not an LCI so yeah, grab the E92.

E90 all day. I've had both and the general populace seems to like my Sedan better. Much more practical car as well over the time span.

Between those two choices, E92 without a doubt... Seriously.

I like the e92 more but because its an auto I would go e90. If you find an e92 on manual then go with that.

if you are like a person who carries passensgers most of the time, and if you are married, or plan to get married in couple years, I would go for e90.
if not, e92
But out of those 2 cars, I would go for e92, because it has updated CIC navi and the e90 is a pre lci

Forget both and get one of these. In CA you will LOVE the drop top! Trust me, with a fancy car like these its nice to be able to drop the top anytime you wish. I get lots of looks everywhere as well. A few of my bmw friends have told me they wished they had bought a drop top too lol, but money wasn't feasible for them. In your price range these fit right in.

If your not biased to the m3, there are some nice 335's as well. With a few mods they are much faster than the m3. 335i coupes and Sedans are cheaper than the m3's by a margin if you head that route.

Heres a few verts to look at. If you can find an M-sport Edition you will like those. You can also add the body kit yourself. I did that. Checkout carmax, they have some good deals, plus you can ship a car to you that way you get more choices with colors. I'd rather pay a little more to ship it and get the color ive always wanted if you cant find it local.

M3 has better suspention, and can be super fast if you top it with the 15k supercharger (eeek) but if thats your plans get an m3. If your worried about insurance then Sedan, or Getting a 335i would be a better choice. If not stick to the m3 if thats what you've always wanted. Just remember to get what you truly want and not settle.
