Will something like this work to stream music to my stereo without an aux cable?

Hey all.

I have an I-drive 07 E93 and have the aux input in the arm rest. Also have an HTC EVO that has bluetooth capability.

Hate using the 3.5mm cable and am wondering if I can plug in a dongle into the aux input an leave it in there, then stream music via bluetooth under the aux audio setting?

I read a few threads about people doing it as a phone call... Understand that it can only be streamed that way as mono? No sure how accurate that
statement is.

Here is the dongle I found...

TIA

That one you listed will not work. Then one from eBay is a transmitter. You need a receiver. Here's one I bought from amazon. Works great for streaming Bluetooth audio from my iPhone. Will not interfere with built in Bluetooth for phone calls either

Thats amazing - thank you. "Bluetooth audio receiver" with an emphasis on 'receiver' are the key words I'm after!!

Can anyone attest to the sound quality of this unit? I have read a few isolated reviews online saying that the sound quality is mediocre?

I have never tested one of those. There is a new PAC piece that we have on order that we will test out.

Buy.com had a Belkin a couple weeks back.

I think I have one BlackBerry Audio Gateway left in the packaging...

What is PAC and what does a blackberry gateway do?

I just ordered the britelink from amazon for $32. Why is it so hard to find these bluetooth receivers that have a 3.5mm male end? Only saw the belkin and the britelink on amazon

The Blackberry was the first one of these devices. It's been discussed on this forum many times. PAC is a car audio parts company, owned by AAMP.

Hey guys - quick update after having the Britelink for about 2 weeks. It works excellent from a HTC Evo. Range is about 25-30 feet. Sound quality is excellent. Only downside is that everytime you jump into your car you have to hold the power button for a good 5 seconds to power it on. If you hold it for too long you'll go into pairing mode. So thats my only beef... Ideally it would be pretty sweet if the unit powered on when it received power through the usb outlet as the car powers on.

Blackberry one auto powers when you start the car...I have it connected to the outlet in the center console.
