Bluetooth music?

I've heard a couple of things regarding this topic, nothing consistent. So I'll post the objective and hope to gain some ideas and or solutions to accomplish my goal.

Objective:
Play music FROM my Droid phone app via a bluetooth connection.

is this even possible?

I have a 2009 E92 with HiFi stereo and idrive.

please help
thank you

Im going to say no, unless you have every option available added to the car.

And even then, audio over bt is only available to newer (2011+) cars

I got the standard BT that is included when you get the navigation package. This does not do a2dp.
Works great for calls though.

Bluetooth for music is not available in your car (only bluetooth for calls), but this is by far the best solution I have find:

http://newpotatotech.com/TUNELINK_AU...link_auto.html

You connect Tunelink in the cigar lighter from your armrest and then to your aux port and you are set!

I know if you have a jailbroken iPhone you can download a tweak so music can be played in mono over the Handsfree bluetooth profile but who wants to listen to music in mono?

Anyway, +1 on the blackberry stereo gateway. I love mine. Integrates perfectly with the BMW bluetooth (In regards to answering calls and pausing music)

Has been discussed several dozen times, search bluetooth audio. Quick answer is Blackberry stereo gateway or combox retro fit.
