im pretty sure its in your head that you lost power. just cuz the wheels spin one day and not another doesnt mean you lost power. too many factors are involved (weather, temperature, heat soak etc). get a boost gauge so you can know if your car is running straight

If you are using the stock intercooler, there is your problem. They heat soak very fast and your car will loose power as the intake air temp sky rockets. There are some threads doing analysis on the stock vs upgraded intercoolers. An upgraded intercooler is a must have in most people's opinion.
Helix, AA, Stett, etc. all look like great options. |

It's hard to tell what actually happened due to the way it was written, but it says,
"i was beaten the hell out the car today and felt that car lost power, like from a dead stop if i floored it with the traction off the wheels will spin.Today after beating it it would'nt spin out...please help" We know that the stock intercooler is a piece of junk based on the logging and tests done and posted on this forum. It's such a piece of junk that it starts to heatsoak during a first run. If someone is driving the car hard in 80 degree weather, after 5 minutes the car is going to be having IAT's of 140 or 150+ and will be slower with less power when they started 5 minutes earlier. When we removed my stock intercooler last wed. I was shocked at how small and light it was. Literally it felt like nothing in my hands. The upgraded intercooler was the real deal. By the way, hope you make it out to the next mod install party at Clems. I have never seen a 135 close up. Here are pics from the last mod install party we had: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=270365 |

as others have said, try to be a little more specifc/descriptive.
If you told us 'the butt dyno feels like it lost 100HP', that's prob not heat soak. But if you said, 'it feels almost as fast as yesterday, but the wheels don't spin like they used to' that could be a lot of things. One thing to keep in mind is that you won't get full boost until the car is warmed up. So if you look at the oil temp guage and it's not over maybe 200'F, that could be your problem. Heatsoak, atmospheric changes etc. DME is pretty sneaky. If there are other problems like long cranks, hesitation, misfiring, CEL etc that sounds a lot more like a real engine problem.

Sounds like you may have heat soaked your IC and cause a power drop. Time for an IC upgrade!
