On the above link it says this:
On Order
As soon as your dealer gives you your production number, it shows up in OC as ‘On Order.’ You should also get a Production Week Number when your car will be produced.

So I have a Prod # when I ordered at the dealer, the OC has the correct color and model. I called 800 # and talked w/ a guy there and said it's sched for produc with no confirmed prod date yet. So the above says when your car is "On Order" you should get a prod week #. How do I find out my prod week #, I hear everyone talking about their week # but when do I find out what mine is? Do I have to speak to someone there to find out or does the 800 auto line tell you? Will I not find out what my prod week # is until it's already gone into production?

your CA or BMW NA will be able to give you the scheduled week #. Some BMW NA reps didn't know wtf I was talking about when I asked them what my Week was, others volunteered the information right after I told them my production number.

It's weird how much these reps vary w/ their information...

Plus, your car will be "brand brand" new for quite a while - always a sweet feeling.

I consider myself somewhat of a moron for not doing this, but I just don't think I could wait another 3 months. For you it'd be.... another 3 weeks. Do it!
Ya know, Gerbs, that sounds like a good idea. I'll make the call Monday to see if I can make that change. I've already put down a hefty deposit (they ask for %12), so as long as I don't lose that, then that's what I'll do. Thanks for the tip!

If they don't let me make the change, I'll still feel okay. I plan on taking the car to 200K miles, so short term depreciation isn't the biggest factor. Long-term performance is what I'm looking for, and I expect that from an '07 or an '08.

I have a question??

My Prod. No. is also 3686XXX, I orderd in May 1st, but the CA told me my car will be produced at June 26th.

I think the close Prod. No. mean that the cars will be produced in close date, is it right? or it depends....

yeah close production numbers mean that they'll be produced close together. your date is a little further down the line than mine, but yeah.. i think you're week 25, i'm 23.

i actually had a dream last night that i took delivery of my car and drove it around town. wow i didn't want to wake up this morning. still praying for a june production # argh my CA is gone until saturday and can't update me on a new production # until he gets back (my old one was one of the unlucky ones that got canceled - placed order on 4/28). it's driving me insane - all i want to know is just how long i'd have to wait till production because i am very tempted to start talking to other dealers. would love to just call up my dealership and ask what the deal is. you guys think anyone else from my dealership would be willing to assist me on that besides my CA?

June order

Well I ordered my car on 15 May here in korea and got my order form back today with all the options and other info including my order number, which I am assuming is my production number. The car was suppose to be built in June but my order form from Germany says 07 07 so looks like July for my 335i E90. What website and phone number are you guys using to check order status including options and expected production date?

Just called and yesterday my car's status changed to:

"Scheduled for daily production pack" or something to that effect. Operator couldn't elaborate beyond that. I'm estimated for week 23 build but I'm hoping this means it may be sooner.

Does anybody know what the average time is to go from this status into production?

Thanks.

I got prod number 3634*** on 4/28, but I didn't get a production week. Should I expect June production and July delivery? I've been waiting since March and loosing my patience, but there's nothing else out there worth buying.

I was one of the people that got my original Week 21 cancelled due to the allocation error by BMW. As you know, BMW gave out 2,000 allocations for various models that DID NOT EXIST. Although it is not the dealers fault you need to be all over them to find you another allocation. I met with the Sales Manager at my dealership twice with no luck. He kept telling me he had nothing to trade another dealer and I would have to wait until his July or Sept allocation at best.

Long story short, I emailed the President of the dealership (since it is owned by BMW) and started a case with Customer Relations. I did this late on Fri afternoon. Monday morning I get a call, they traded with another dealer and got me a Week 24 build. If I didn't push I would have still been waiting.

Bottom line... if you got cancelled, you need to be all over them to get you a new number. They are NOT getting replacements for the cancellations. There is simply no additional capacity. Again, I know all this because I have a family member that works at BMW NA and is working on this mess.

i'm going crazy right now.. i ordered this car back in the first week of march.. i finally got my production number at the very end of april.. i called and they had told me week 23.. now i call up bmw again today.. and they tell me my production number doesn't exist.. you dont understand how heated i am.. if they tell me i have to wait one week more than they had already told me.. since they told me at first end of april, then changed it to end of may.. and now end of june.. i am going to tell him to cancel the order immediately and that i don't plan on ordering a BMW ever again in the near future (considering ive ordered about 7 cars from this dealership.. they don't want to lose my business i'm sure).. i'm going to drive right to the Audi dealership and order an A5.. i can't stand this anymore

I ordered a very similar car to yours(see sig). My order was placed 4 weeks ago and my car is about to get on a ship. It's not you fault, or the dealerships fault...they just don't have an allocation. Call around...see if you can find a dealer with an allocation that is status 112(not 111, huge difference).

If your dealership won't put you(a loyal customer) on top of thier list...find somebody who will. That's what I did.
