Hello I am new! I have just purchased a 2007 330D
Hi All,
I am new to this forum I have just bought a 2007 330D M Sport 4 door Saloon on 44K It's been well looked after by my friend from new. Are there any pointers at this point in time? I have just agreed sale on my beloved e39 530i M Sport... I'm doing a lot of miles per month at the moment and I have already put 24 K on her in the past 12 months and she is not getting any younger. One burning question I have.. Although the spec on this car is very good. it doesnt have xenon or angel eyes.. My 5 series did. How tricky is it to replace and upgrade? Thanks Tarby |

Welcome to the forum.
Retrofitting xenons can be costly, sometimes problematic and best left to someone who knows how to fit them. You can fit LCI lights that readily come with angel eyes and you can also upgrade the bulbs to led's. This is much less hassle, though you will need to remove the front bumper to get to the light housings. Last edited by Cyprio; 06-02-2012 at 02:33 AM.. |

Thanks for that!
Being dumb... What is LCI Lights? Sorry I have tried to search before asking that.. I see lots of aftermarket stuff all over the net.. Would a set from the same model as mine i.e genuine Xenon and angel eyes be a straight swap or is that what you phrase as 'retrofitting'. Thanks Tarbs |

LCI refers to the facelifted car, part of the facelift was new style lights but will fit pre-lci (your car).
Aftermarket stuff, I went for a cheap set of angel eyes, they look better than BMW has done IMO but the beam pattern isn't 100% for me. Depo headlights however seem to get a good review and those run at £300+ and will get you your angel eyes. Yes, thats what he meant by retrofitting. My understanding is they need coded to the car, not only that they are expensive... at least £700, plus the cost of fitting and coding as mentioned. |

Thank you very much.. Now I get it.. OK so the headlights can wait.. I was just curious. I'm gonna miss the brightness of the ones i am used to but hey... I also remember driving my old Mk2 Escort for hours in the dark and still being able to see!
