Cars with rain sensor have no intermittent wiper settings. The only have "low freq mode", "high freq mode" and "rain sensor mode". The wheel on the stalk adjusts the sensitivity of the rain sensor.

Cars without rain sensor have intermittent setting adjustable by the wheel on the stalk.

More annoying than hate but the decontented features of the LCI 335....no oil cooler, no ski boot with cold weather package, no standard L7 sound system, etc.

the "logic" behind that baffles me to no end. the rain sensor setting sucks... sometimes i'll just humor the shit out of myself when it's pouring when i merge onto the turnpike and see how long it takes to wipe. it's laughable. the full gamut of intermittent wiping should be offered rain sensor or not

Personally, I've never seen that in another car.

Full blast is quite loud. I never use the full setting.

Not to state the obvious, but if you go into manual mode operation of the HVAC system, you can blend the amount of air that is directed toward the windshield. The three buttons on the left side of the HVAC controls allow for manual blending of the air flow. The windshield defrost action is just that, to defog the windshield as rapidly as possible.

I hate how folding rear seats don't come standard on the sedans. Learned that the hard way on my old e46.

At least we don't have to pay extra for turn signals and hand brakes.

The driver's window that ices up closed more often than not. The heavy-ish trunk lid that doesn't fully open. The tempermental rain sensing wiper control. The leather sleeve on the hand brake that keeps slipping off. No remote starter. She's still a pretty little thing though that never lets me down when I need the power.

Ingenious! This is the answer I was looking for!

Really? Somehow I don't have any "cut the power to the wiper motor" buttons in my car that I could press. And I don't hack any power cables leading to the windshield with an axe. All I do is remove my key fob from the slot.

And you know what? My stereo continues playing! My power seats continue moving! My power windows continue to work! Even though I just "cut the power", as you said. Removing the fob does not really cut the overall power in this car.

Yet, for some reason, when I remove my key from the slot the windshield wipers stop instantly and immediately in the middle of the windshield. Yes, of course, they stopped because the "power to the motor" was "cut". But it wasn't really cut be me. It was cut by the car's computer (or whatever power control system they use). By the very same computer that decided to keep the power available to the stereo and to the windows. And my questions is: what is the logic (if any) behind this apparently illogical behavior of windshield wipers?

I don't understand what's so difficult to understand about that simple question.

If you know the answer, feel free to enlighten me. I am all ears.

Surprisingly mine does work pretty well. I found it works best at 1 setting up from the bottom one.

However, as anyone with that sensor knows, it has much better sensitivity for small water droplets (drizzle) and much worse sensitivity for large water droplets (shower). Which means that wiper behavior is always very irregular and unpredictable. One has to always adjust that selector to match the sensor sensitivity to the rain type.

I did not know that- I will definitely check it out. What do you use for each rain type? (serious about this).
