Cheers again for bringing this awesome mod to my attention.

I love having idrive, but I hate how rubbish it it. Being able to just connect my phone to the screen will make it usable!
I'm about to do this, firstly you need a multimedia interface (link below) which will give you the AV inputs, this interrupts the RGB signal to the LCD so uses the whole screen but you can have multiple views if you require.

You can just connect the relevant av cable depending on what phone you have and hey presto mirrored image on screen, at present you have to use a cable to connect the phone but there is companies working a wireless option

Yes, I was going to buy this unit directly from modmynav as he offers great support.

I am wondering what ables are needed after you have this unit installed.

Got to say something.

My expectations were too high from Dave's system but after reading few bits, Dave could improve his sound system. I think his installer is more into VW or Merc and hence the way system is setup up. It is not optimized for BMW's and I can assure you that it can be improved way more than what it is now. (Sorry Dave, did not comment any further on your audio thread as I did not want to offend anybody mate.)

I'm really sorry to say that people (Tom, dick and harry) who know nothing about sound system get excited seeing cars getting stripped (boot open) and farting (sub playing). The louder, car fart's, more they get excited. No disrespect to any of you guys, but sadly thats the dilema of this era. None thinks about sound quality (SQ) and perhaps people do not even have the ability to recognise what is sound quality and balance in sound.

Going back to Sam, I can assure you that it can give hard time to any sound system (once that get tuned optimally) on the basis of SQ and not just farting!

Hey Makkan,

In all honestly, I made Dave shut his boot! Bass was never high up on the agenda here, I thought he had it turned up a fair way without any distortion that I could hear. Ok obviously the more (time and) money you chuck in, the better a sound system could be...Still really for a nice factory spec look I thought it was fairly good! Also coming from the stock rubbish I am used to...

There is no distortion from my system whatsoever. Mak hasn't heard it and is moaning because I haven't set up the EQ the way he would like (and baring in mind I'm still working on the EQ. I'm new to this and learning: Having always previously gone for an aftermarket head unit and relying on the eqaulisation they provide. I make no reservations about this).

When I've finished stage 2 and gotten the sound deadening sorted, there'll be no rattles whatsoever - I always achieve this from my cars. Hence the magazine feature of my E90, and the 7 hours of solid running that car had at every show without ever hearing a single negative word.

So, I can't really be bothered to entertain it.

But now that a few people have complimented my system as it is so far, the ego can't take it.

Each to their own? Except I don't chase him around moaning in his topics.

Moving swiftly on before anyone makes themselves look like a twit I think

Each to their own. Its not to let you down but maximising the use of your kit. Its like having m3 but not using it to its limits.

As you said you are learning to tweak, wish you best of luck.

Let's meet and discuss sometimes. You are far too quick to use extremely strong words and put something down. Perhaps it's a language barrier thing. It comes across very blunt.

I'm not closed to advice put across in the right way But it did strike me the way you felt compelled to write what you did as soon as a few people were complimenting my build? No need for it - and yes I took offence to be fair, but no matter really - I've got a thick enough skin.

Sorry guys!!

I'll post tomorrow. I have literally only got pics of about 5 or 6 of the cars though as the light ran out quickly and I didn't have a tripod.

I was saying about those people who do not have much idea about SQ. And those who love to open their boot to show sub in action. Perhaps it implied that I talked about you. Its not your fault getting offended. Its me!

But then Meshyo made a fair point that if you listen to beamer base sound system, then most of improvment kits sound good.

You have one of the best kit (Bit one) and best sub. Given the time, learning and adjusting few things, it will sound even better. Perhaps we'll meet sometime and discuss the things from their on.

Coming back to photos...awaiting.
