SOME #$%^# keyed my gas tank lid...

Ok...so some bastard keyed my gas tank lid .....i'll post pics of them later, however, do you guys know where i can buy another gas tank lid? Im a little nervous about calling the dealership, cause they might charge a little "too much." Also, if i do buy one...are they easy to install?
Thanks a bunch guys

oh also, the scratch is a big X on it, and its mainly on my gas tank, i think i can do some touch up paint on the rest...but the the big "X" on my gas tank lid is pretty damn deep, i can definately feel a ridge when i run my fingers across it

a$$holes...luckily is confined to your gas tank door. I'd take it to a bodyshop first and see if they can touch it up or respray. Can't be that much, its a small aquare area esp since your paint is simple and straight jet blk. Also check with a detail shop and see if they can do something about it. GL.

i feel you man, people are f-ing spineless assholes. thankfully it's a small area so even if it needs to completely repainted, you're not going to pay much for it.

yeah... be happy it's just the gas tank door.

My buddy was being a jerk and cut some guy off for a parking spot at the mall... walked out to find two big X's on the drivers side doors of his Envoy. I don't agree with what my buddy did; but still...

That reminds me of a time I pulled into a parking space at the mall. I parked next to a Porsche Cayman S and noticed the guy in front of him (in a POS $2K at most car) pulled in too far in his parking spot the the two cars were kissing so to speak. Just happens that while I was looking at it the owner of the Porsche and his wife came out, they backed their car out and there was no damage unbelievably. The other guy must have been pulling into the spot and hit the Porsche so slowly that it didn't do anything. Anyway, the owener of the Porsche ended up keying both the drivers side and passenger side door of the other car. I didn't notice because I was talking to the guys wife. My buddy who was with me told me and sure enough when I looked it was true.

I don't blame the guy for getting upset but because there was no damage done I can't even fathom why he would key the guys car and cause considerable damage. Even though the car was cheap as hell, its paint was still in pretty good condition with no huge scratches.... until that moment. Would've said something except I feared for my cars safety since I was parked right next to him and I was going into the mall, not coming out to leave.

damn pretty sure they are insecure or jealous with your car or maybe someone knows you and a little piss off with you.

youre lucky its only the gas tank lid, mine the whole left-back bumper got hit and run on a parking lot and it cost me $250 to paint it. of course with the help of good connection who give me cheap price.

go to the body shop and let them take care of it IMO.
