Car don't feel attached to the ground
Hi, I recently bought a 34000 mile CPO e92 (335i w/o active steering), I don't feel my car is attached to the ground enough when I drive it, especially when cornering. I took it to the dealer 3 times for this problem and they said everything seems to be fine with no problems. They did replace 1 bent wheel and 3 new RFT tires (defected), and also alignment on my first visit. But still, the car does not handle like a BMW.
What should I have the dealer do? Thanks. |

It is very unlikely at this point that your springs or shocks are worn. However, a bad pot-hole might have blown a seal inside a shock. Have a solid look at any leakage on the shock itself.

the feeling you have is because of the runflat tires, also the 335 has hilariously undersized swaybars for the weight and axle geometry of the car (intentionally to make it handle poorer as to not steal M3 sales)

I know the feeling, the car feels to soft even with my st 1 coil overs. It feels horrible in the curves, body roll and the floaty feeling are awful. Planning to replace a lot of the 335i suspension parts with m3 parts in the next few weeks. Hopefully that makes me enjoy driving this thing in anything but a straight line.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. Once the suspension sets the E9X chassis is PHENOMENAL at the track. The amount of mechanical grip, even with run-flat tires, far exceeds that of previous generations despite the mass. I've driven multiple E9Xes with various engines and state of suspension tune, and if you know what you're doing they'll all run circles around their older generation counterparts.
If you're tossing the car into a corner willy nilly and expect it to grip like a REAL sports car...Well, I got bad news for you. Real sports cars, even race cars, don't behave like they do in the video games, in real life. It takes some finesse and skills to pilot a 3,500 lbs + mass around a corner.

Tires have a break in period of about 500 miles. Try pushing the car hard and seeing how it responds, if there is some sort of suspension geometry problem it should be more apparent. Also try adjusting your tire pressures more accurately What size wheels and tires are on it? |

Something you should try is try and see if it's just your car or just the way e92s are. I think for me I felt the same way too, but I installed front and rear sway bars and it's a lot better now.
You should go to a dealership and find a car similar to yours and test drive it. If it's the same then you know it's just the way e92s are. If not then it's your car. |
