Coolant leak

I topped up my coolant recently and have noticed a lot of coolant splatter around the tank. Also I noticed that when the cap is fully screwed on it is still quite loose. I added a rubber o-ring around the cap and this has tightened it on closure.
There is no loose / cracked pipes as far as i can see, maybe i need to replace the coolant tank, but im not sure. From the residue it looks like it has sprayed out from somewhere on the tank in very small amounts.
Has any one come across this problem, before I replace the coolant tank and find out its something else?

Car goes on for its recall on monday so looks like this will be my next job..!
I will posts some pics shortly.

Garage List
There's been a few cases on the forums of leaking caps. I changed mine about a year ago as a precaution.

Yeah I may try that as it was loose used o-ring as temp measure to help tighten it up when closed, think it may be the tank as well tho.
Also noticed this the coolant pipe going into the bulk head has turned white - may have a leak there as well

I think im going to try the cap first then replace the tank. The coolant pipe prob needs replacing as well not sure if it is a easy job or not, anyone else had this problem?
