My old mans E-Type

Photo Approx 1995-1996 I ain't completely sure.

He did the RAC classic rally a few times. Drove it around Silverstone etc.

I remember it feeling quite quick (Bearing in mind I was a kid)

Loved it, and it was a very special car. I wish he had kept it, as I do about quite a few cars he had.

Awesome car for their time, but not probably outperformed by something like a Cooper S!

My next door neighbour has one as a running restoration. It is a black 4.2(?) FHC. They don't float my boat, although I can see why they are so sought after and collectable.

Ah I actually thought it was an XR with the blue strip on the bumper but assumed it was your Frst...

You going to hang onto it or is it F/S?

Not concourse but in good condition. Poorly built 1.8zvh conversion.

I'll dig out a pic.

Bwood it was blue.

Lovely cars. Seem to recall that the one "Motor" magazine did 150mph in was blueprinted etc. - basically Jaguar "cheated"!

Still wonderful though, and good value new - (near) 150mph grunt for about £2000, when similar performance Ferraris were £4000+.
