cyba tips poll

Hey guys, time for the next small mod.. exhaust tips to replace my ugly skinny straight cut chrome oem performance exhaust tips. I'm putting up a poll, which is probably the best way for me to gauge some opinion. I respect the opinion of fellow members most of the time. I narrowed the choices down to a handful of cyba tips. I know there's so many different brands and vendors etc that sell nice tips. Some info about the car it's an lci deep sea blue m-sport. Vote and feel free to share some insight! thanks

4.0 Dark Black Chrome Tips with High Temp Coating.

4.0 Titanium Blue Single Layer Angle Cut

3.8 inch Stainless Steel Brushed aluminum tips angle cut

4.0 Dry Carbon Tips Angle Cut

Update: it looks like carbon is starting to run away with it, wanted to see if these pictures of ti blue on a blue car would change anyones mind lol

pictures above = gotchuckz's build

I had the carbon fiber ones in the past and I'm currently running the titanium blue ones, my only complaint with those is that due to them being single walled one of them melted the side of my oem m-tech diffusor. But if they're mounted perfectly in the middle you shouldn't have this problem. I like the look of the single wall better but I got plenty of compliments when I was running the cf ones too, just depends what you like better

thanks for the feedback man , I like both look awesome on your car! very tastefully modded and wow so the blue tips ended up melting some of your diffusor. I could see that happening even if you place them in the middle because after all they are large. Honestly just because of that I might get the carbon fiber ones for being doubled up.

Cyba is too expensive imo. I bought tips off ebay for around 40$. Turned out great. Check my threads/posts for pics for stainless steel 4inch. Just match the inlet size and you can get any tips out there.

What diffuser do you have? If it's an aggressive diffuser go with 4.0 sizing. If not, go 3.8.

As far as finish I love the traditional with the tapered look to the edge. I guess that's a double going to single? Although Ti would look good with a blue car IMO.

I paired the 4.0 black chrome from Cyba with my Duke dynamics diffuser. I think it's a great match. My tips are more of a gloss black though instead of a black chrome. But over the past 3 years the finish still looks as good as new. No paint flakes or chips or anything. I love them. They are expensive yes. But it's nowhere near the price gap of carbon parts and bumpers vs replicas which can be hundreds to thousands of dollars.

your car looks amazing, I have seen it so many times around the forums lol was hoping someone with a nice tip setup like you would reply. I have the stock diffuser but I plan on getting a more aggressive one not sure exactly which one. Honestly I think both sizing 3.8 or 4.0 would look good. I'm just stuck on the finish. Honestly even tho tips are so small, it really helps pull the back end of the car together, changes the rear end look alot in my opinion that's the only reason I even bothered to make a thread

Thanks so much for the kind words! I enjoy trying to help out when people are making decisions. Back when I was first modding I had to do a little at a time since I wasn't making too much money. So that gave me months to debate things like what exhaust tip to get.

I was torn between the carbon and black chrome. At first I loved the double tip effect the dry carbon has. With the outer carbon shell over the inner tip. But after looking at it I started to think the weave of the carbon would clash with a carbon diffuser. So I decided against it.

The reason I went with black chrome is I have everything else on my car black. I think with a car color like space gray, silver pieces look out of place. So I didn't want silver tips or titanium. However, if my car was white or black (or in your case blue) I would be more inclined to get the silver tips instead of black. What finish are you currently leaning towards?

And I completely agree, the tips really do a great job of finishing off a cars look. They can ruin it if they are out of place and draw too much of the eye, or be a nice subtle addition if they are a good match to the flow of the car.

such good feedback man, you make a lot of sense. Honestly I am in that situation, I have spent so much money on the car that at this point it takes me a while to pull the trigger on something as small as exhaust tips. But I would say I am leaning towards the ti blue tips or the cf double wall tips. I don't know if the diffusor I am getting in the future will be cf or not. If it is cf you are saying I should go with ti to contrast it? I'm guessing what you meant was that cf tips on a cf diffusor is too much cf

Yea that was just my opinion. And the other problem was that I was concerned the carbon fiber patterns wouldn't look similar either (comparing the tip to the diffuser)

I think going the titanium route would look great, especially given your car is blue.

Is your Duke Dynamics diffuser installed on an OEM bumper? I like the fins on yours? How much did this diffuser cost?
Thanks, John

I have a replica rear bumper from JGMods here:

http://www.jgmods.com/index.php/e92-...-bumper-1.html

I'm not sure about the diffuser, I think it was 600 shipped? I emailed duke dynamics directly and they had this in stock. Just FYI though, they have some horrible stories about long wait times (6 months or more) and bad fitment. Some people get lucky like I did. This was in stock and I got it within a week, fitment was perfect. I would say if they don't have what you want in stock, don't order it.
