Price on invoice vs Price List

Hi,

Did a deal on a new car at the weekend and was happy with the deal, was scanning down the invoice and noticed that the new car price on the invoice (prior to the 'special allowance' they seem to put on for the deal) was different to the official BMW price list price for the car I have.

Odd? Has there been a price increase since the price list was published perhaps? Are dealers allowed to charge a different price and maybe this was their price? It was higher I believe than the BMW brochure price from memory.

Thanks,

Paul

your contract was prior to march then yes by law they have to charge you per original invoice, however, you know they could have some sneaky terms and conditions in there per road tax as an example. never trust the steeler!

My invoice was at the weekend, but I reckon I've got the 'old' pricelist from BMW hence spotting the difference. The amount on the invoice for RFL (I assume Road Fund Licence) is more than a year's tax for the car so think it must include some kind of fee!

the last quote i got from the dealer (for the 335d) had RFL on it at £215.00. this £10 more than the 12 months diesel tax rate of £205.00!

Our quote for RFL was £205 yet when we paid for the car they charged us the correct fee of £195, confused or what?

Regards

Chris

I think mine was 232 or something odd but then I think tax has gone up ?! Still doesn't match actual cost but it didn't have initial registration fee etc. broken down so assume that is in there somewhere.
