modifies the intake air temperature sensor signal which is used in air flow calculation (according to the website).
You might see a few horse added in a warm climate, but could also bring you closer to engine knock and damage. i would not try to use this ever! |

Old school tom-foolery. It simply intercepts the AIT signal, adjusts ity to make the ECM 'think' the car is running on cooler intake air then it really is to change the Timing & Fuel Trim Maps.
There's a good reason that higher Air Temps have an input as to the Timing/Fuel - just like wheels are round and not square... Your 1st clue should have been the statement in their description 'If you have added mods (say our electric supercharger)' You're not gonna realize any real seat of the pants power gains. You need to properly tune the entire program of the car while on a dyno to get any power gains (similar to what an AA Tune will do for you). I spent many hrs on a dyno tuning my GM Trans Am using HPTuners software to tweak all the variables to yield a safe tune for quality of gas used that yields highest possible HP/TQ People generally always want to take the cheapest/quickest route to accomplish anything, when in reality, proper tuning for power takes hours and $$ spent on proper software, dyno time & correct knowledge of exactly what the hell you are doing to begin with. Vendors just like to capitalize on most people's laziness & shallow wallets. Best bet is to just pay the $400 and get an AA tune which has been researched/tested & dyno proven by experts that KNOW how to tune the car to squeeze out that last bit of power without realizing any damage

1. Stop putting an exclamation mark next to all your threads.
2. When in doubt, search. All your newb questions have already been asked/answered. 3. Thanks for playing. |

No one needs to apologize for being a newbie. Everyone was one once upon a time.
However, one should be sorry for being a newbie that doesn't know how to search, asks dumb questions left and right, and asking questions that have been asked a million times before.

being newb fine, asking newb questions due to one's laziness is not cool. there's a reason for the search button. it's not decoration. |

cosmetic mods i can see a cheaper route on things... but when its performance related parts you just got to bite the bullet or dont do it at all.
getting cheap parts is like getting a cheap heart pacemaker. either something goes wrong and you in the can or your just waiting for it to go wrong.
