E90 M Sport Tyre Pressures

Hello all,

I have been trying to find the BMW recommeded tyre pressures for my car, as the previous owner put on 19 inch wheels, and i dont have the details on the tyre label.

Im running OEM bridgestone potenza RFT's -

Front - 225/35 R19 88Y
Rear - 255/30 R19 91Y

Thanks

Richard

Just checked my door card (which does have 19s listed)

Front = 2.5 Bar with 2 people or 2.9 Bar with 4 people and luggage
Rear = 3.0 Bar with 2 people or 3.4 Bar with 4 people and luggage

Hope this helps

E90 and E91 are not / have never been available with 19" factory options so the door sticker doesn't quote them.

As post 4 - E92/E93 do have 19" options...

thanks for your help, you can get 19" bmw performance 313 factory wheels on the E90 , which i have.
i also rang BMW and for 2 people they state

front - 35 psi, rear - 39 psi

not sure what is the best to go for, but i have changed to the above pressures (mine were FAR too low) and handling is greatly improved.

Before they were 30 front/ 32 rear and the back end liked to come round much more easily in the wet

As a UK dealer fit option yes - they'll fit whatever you want, but no 19"s are factory-build options on E90/E91, so they are not on the factory door card.

I'm really not sure where all these figures are coming from.

However, I can confirm the sizes you mentioned are specifically listed on my E92 M Sports plaque.

Front = 2.5 Bar = 36.2595 PSI
Rear = 3.0 BAR = 43.5114 PSI

So I would say the 2 different pressures (provided by the dealers) are a little low, especially as I'm listing the "2Up" figures and not fully ladened.

A lot will say; I prefer to run at these pressures etc etc , but it's really down to personal preference and I don't find the ride to be too crashy using the pressures above (even with RFTs). But a few PSI here or there shouldn't negatively impact you too much.

i have no idea either, maybe they have to be different on the E90 compared to the E92/93?
Just seems odd that both BMW garages - state different figures (for 2 peeps load)
I might send an email to cotswold aswell and see what they say lol - crazy

At the risk of making my first post on this forum contentious, my E90 330 has pressures for 17, 18 and 19 on its door-sticker.

For the OP figures are

225/35 R 19 2.6 Front 3.0 Rear
225/35 R 19 Max 2.9 Front 3.4 Rear

255/30 R 19 2.9 Rear
255/30 R 19 Max 3.4 Rear

Welcome!!

Not contentious at all.
My E91 has 19" pressures on the door card too, however, it's pointless me quoting Touring pressures for the Saloon!

To the OP, for the rears, you will need to be on 40 psi or more....

anything less, you get excessive inner wear....

You've heard it here first!...

that is some ridiculously low pressure for such a heavy car and Tyre type.
