replace rear brake pads

Hey guys,

I think my rear brake pads are at 10-12% now.

How much is gonna cost to replace rear brake pads and rotors for E92 335 at the dealership?

I think its around $370 for parts. How many kilometers did you get out of them?
Maybe just pads if the rotors are in good condition?

51000km and rotors are in good condition, should I replace them ?

When my light comes on, i'm going to change the pads and the sensor and leave the rotors alone. There is a great diy on here somewhere.

I've always gotten 2 pad changes per rotor change, but never tried on a bmw. There is only one way to find out...... unless someone on here has some experience?

I would double check that.

I just got my rear brakes replaced and the dealer said my rotors measured at 17.6 mm. The min thickness for these rotors are about 18.2mm. With my car being a US car, got the change for free

Paid 400$ +tax at the dealer including pad,rotors and sensors ....cant go wrong with this price cuz the sensors are notorious for going bad with long term use and the rotors dont stay as smooth as well. Pads only were 200something, and including the rotors the parts alone were 400ish but the parts dept advised me that if you get it replaced by us then we will subsidize the parts at cost and do all for 400, not bad, considering i will be going to them if any issues arise.

The best after market quote I got was 300 for oem pads (pads only)including labour and 200 for parallel german pads but non oem (from tech max autos)

I wonder why people changes the sensor? Is it required by BMW? Then they also require to change the rotors by default and I don't.

You need to change the sensor in order to clear the computer if your countdown is at 0 for brakes... otherwise, you are going to have the stupid brake warning light on the centre screen, AND the red hand brake light warning on.

I tried to clear the codes myself (didn't work) and I ended up doing this at an independent shop, they had a print out for me that says from BMW that the brake sensor needs to be replaced in order to clear codes...

Why don't you check prices in a BMW dealership in Buffalo or Detroit? Usually everything is cheaper there.
