tires for my style 193s
I believe my style 193s are 8" in the fronts and 8.5" in the rear. I'm looking at replacing my runflats with michelin piot sports. I would like to go 265/35zr18 in the rear. Does anyone think this size would fit since the rear rim is 8.5". Thanks in advance.

265 is a bit wide for 8.5" rims. The tires will stick out a lot more than the wheels. I mean you can do it if that's what you prefer but IMO you should stick with 255 on the rear.

1. The wheels look better, since they fill up the space in the wheel house. 2. Changed gear reduction elevates Vmax to about 260km/h (at least here in Germany, that's a plus). 3. The changed gearing should also have a positive effect on mileage. 4. Comfort is better because of more rubber and forgoing of runflats (they are not available in 225/45). For example, Alpina B3S and M3 E92 have 245/40r18 and 265/40r18 and are considered more comfortable than the normal E92. I don't know about regulations in the U.S., however. |
