Oil coolers for non oem coolers
Hey guys ok I'm totally n00bing out here with these questions, but what do people do with there 07"s who don't have an oem oil cooler already?
I plan on chipping the car here in the next week or two (jb4) and kind of concerned about the car over heating. Can someone point me in the right direction or previous threads? Is there an aftermarket plug and play solution? Or do I need to buy all the oem parts for the car and then upgrade the cooler that way? Thanks in advanced . |

07 here w/o oil cooler and running jb4 .. no overheating issues.. only thing i've done to help is run a higher % of distiled water in the radiator w/a couple bottles of WaterWetter http://www.redlineoil.com/Products.aspx?pcid=10 If you plan on tracking the car then you'll want to look into a conversion kit.. i personally haven't bothered because for whatever reason, oil coolers seem way over priced for what you get..

AR Design offers an oil cooler with a retrofit kit. Cooler is larger than stock and the retrofit portion is OEM parts. List price is about $1400.
I just picked one up lightly used for $650 here on the forum to install on my 07 E92. |
