white gold = 135i, gold = ferrari? is this right pcock?

inbetween studying for this exam and procrastionation i had a quick squint on the rolex website. the yacht master had a new release in 2011, means a good few more years of product life left in it but its a little too busy on the face of it..

Don't you start!

A couple of those1ers are quite delicate

Since you brought it up though, how about the following?

silver = 135
white gold = 335
yellow gold = M3
Platinum = M6

I was laughing my head of at the responses I got.

I though it was a fair comment, but some seem to think their car is everything, shit dudes its a fucking car, in 10 years time you will have something twice as good, look back and say shit how did I ever live without X that old car was a peasent mobile.

At the time I thought my old 325 was a great car and for the time it was but the 335 is way better, the story goes on....

meh i dont really care about other peoples cars.we all chose our perspective vehicles based on our wants/needs. thats what i was trying to project. I guess they do cop alot of flack for driving 1ers, before i went in one i was of the opinion that it was a girls toy until jeef/stuart took me for a spin. was semi convinced but i dont need that sort of cornering ability and speed on my daily commute so my 330d will do for now

Isn't it just an "M" coupe? No "1M" or "M1".... adding the 1 to the decal was too expensive for the pov-pack

You know pcock with your online persona i could see one of these Toy Watches on your wrist. This was Orey's favourite watch, i remember him posting something about it in this thread.

Who knows, the other member from Melb (The one that hates Orrie) seems to think he is still sucking on Eric Rossi's balls.

Whats everyones suggestions?
Welcome to Rolex...if I were you I would go vintage but there are plenty of awesome new ones too. Go for the Deepsea Seadweller, is an awesome watch with presence and will go well with your BMW with the top off, though if you find it too big for your wrist which I think you shouldn't (has a thick case and is 44mm) then you could consider the previous model Seadweller, I can send you links of some good sellers on the forums if you want go that route or you could check if an AD has a BNIB old stock one. Also any submariner is good value but if you worry about collectability, the SS models are more collectable then the gold or dual tone ones. You could also consider the Daytona Cosmograph(model 116520), an awesome watch that you can't go wrong with. If you want a Daytona that's getting more collactable, then go for the previous model which came with the Zenith movement(model 16520), they come with various fine differences that Rolex collectors love. offcourse you could go even more vintage on the Daytonas but they would cost too much. Lastly, get one that speaks to you the most rather than what investment potential it holds etc. because you will be the one staring at it everyday, so you need to be happy with your choice plus no one has a crystal ball to peek into the future and we can only speculate. Either way, whichever Rolex you choose, they are great watches that are unlikely to loose value into the future, especially as they get older and collectable.
