Wow! Great news! I don't exactly need the complexity of settings from the V3 so this is a great offering for us xi peeps.

agree. bought H&R's locally for considerably less. yes I know KW's get better reviews but at the time all they had was v3's for us which was way more than I was going to spend for coilovers. v1's would have been a nice option depending on a group buy price but it would still need to come down at least a couple hundred bux.

I played with the idea of v1's, but decided to go with v3's instead. I'll be able to adjust the coilovers to whatever preference I decide whether it be for the track or for daily commute. The v1's will just adjust the height.

As to the group buy idea guys - there is no such thing with KW, actually no legitimate KW dealer will sell in a group buy, they simply can't part of agreement papers signed when becoming a KW dealer. So if anyone is offering they are clearly not a KW dealer. |

Am i going to kick myself in the ass, if I buy the KW1 and try to save $400 now, will o regret not getting the kw3? I have never been in a lowered e92 of any sort but i imagine the ride quality is much better....
I do not track, its a daily driver but something has to be improved in regards to ride quality |

Just want to update this thread guys, the KW V1's are confirmed out of production and on the shelf at KW @ Germany - we are taking orders now on the KW V1's as it only takes about a week to week and half to get them over and out to you guys.

The adjustability that the Variant 3's offer is great if you are going to track the car or are going to tweak your suspension settings to your absolute liking. The reality of the matter is that I'd say probably 75-80% of customers that purchase V3's from us (for NON track usage) never even touch compression adjustments, and about half adjust rebound (usually those with 19" or 20" wheels).
Out of the box, KW's that have adjustable rebound are set at half way between soft and stiff. Variant 1's offer a ride that is almost identical to that. This means Variant 1's out of the box are going to ride like Variant 2's or Variant 3's out of the box as well; VERY, VERY well! For comparisons sake, an E92 with Variant 1's gives you more road feel and responsiveness than stock, but increases in stiffness are marginal at best. You'll see a huge reduction in that "nose-up" effect 335's have (you know, that feeling of the nose lifting up when giving it a lot of gas) as well. Bounciness (like you get with springs) will be almost zero, and again, you will notice the car is a tad bit stiffer, but in a very good way. It absorbs bumps very, very smoothly and really only stiffens out when it matters; not backbreaking even in the smallest amount. KW's in general out of the box are set very nicely, and I have yet to hear one complaint that Variant 1's are too stiff. What I'm trying to get at is that if you aren't really going to track the car, there is no need to go Variant 3. Chances are you probably won't even change the rebound dampening unless you find it's too stiff, and I don't think I have heard that (on an E92) yet. If you want to do some real suspension tweaking or tracking, I say then consider the Variant 3's, but if not, Variant 1's should be more than enough. If you want to experience another significant change in ride quality for the better, save the money, buy Variant 1's, and get rid of the runflats. Hope this helps guys! Andy |

I would say most people that are doing coilovers their main priority is the look appeal with a close second of being handling.
If your looking just to get that nice drop with improved handling then KWv1 is for you. If your looking to get the most comfortable ride or the best tracking ride then KWv3 is for you. IMHO it is worth to spend an extra few hundred bucks to get the best of the best, especially at the price point of the KWv1's.
