What would you do ?
A year back someone scraped my back bumper meaning that I had to pay out my own pocket for a respray ... (Couldn't not trace back the driver )
I went to BMW only because I wanted to maintain my warranty and ensure that the finish was OEM.... After getting raped £1,070 they replaced the bumper and sprayed the new bumper (alpine white) At the time if collection I didn't notice this but after a few months several friends & family noted out to me that the colour is slightly different compared to the rest of the car.... I took it to another dealership outside Sytner group and even the body shop manager who's been working in position for 20yrs said it's different colour .... Got a call on this Wednesday saying that as I had the work carried out by BMW exactly a year they are calling my car in for a"inspection" to ensure that the 3 year garuntee on the paint work is maintained My question is.... Can I highlight my concerns to them and show them as clearly the paint is a few shades off ... I could have paid £300 or lower but only went to BMW as I wanted a proper job ? What would you guys do ? |

Take it in for them to look at, see if they comment on the colour, if they don't then just point out that you had it appraised recently and was told due to the fact that it looks like a bad repair it was devalued... This might generate a conversation about who did the work, you did!! Can we get the body shop manager to have a look as I think the initial job was not to standard.. Ya never know how these things turn out... try your luck...

This all should go in your favor which ever way you go about it.
I would take it to them and just say the colour is not up to standard looks faded or you can tell them they must of painted the wrong colour! Hopefully they don't try to say you've had a new bumper since and they painted the wrong colour!!! Goodluck man either way they should sort it seen as you paid that amount and is guaranteed |

They will repaint it. I had my front bumper side skirts and rear bumper painted after complaining that my Mineral White paint was "off".
Also just so you are aware BMW use approved back street garages for paint work, this doesn't always mean they are good. |

Think of there objections before hand and have short concise replies, sometimes a bit of silent disagreement in these situations does wonders... These people are trained to over come frustrated customers, if you are calm and clear in what you want, they tend to back down... A good reply is, NO sorry disagree with that, then just silence... It throws them..... into a bit of empathy with you..... People in sales/customer service are only ever trained in overcoming objections... when faced with empathy of a situation that is clearly wrong, human nature overtakes... |

Am i reading this right? You paid over a grand for a painted rear bumper?
BMW probably used a private bodyshop you know, my local BMW dealership does that. |

Obviously we are dealing with different dealerships but mention that your thinking of changing your diffuser and ask nicely if they can paint it, thye'll have the paint already mixed anyway and its only a small part to paint... worth a try..
