New X3

New X3 looks like it's shaped up pretty well!

http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/b...308-1bllo.html

Entry level 2litre diesel starting at low 60s sounds like it's the pick of the bunch.. with the obligatory Msport kit for $4,700 of course.

Anyone test driven one yet or going to a launch?

I think I still prefer the RR Evoque for the 'bling' factor though

RR evoke any day of the week. Unless we receive the X3 xdrive35 then the RR evoke loses.

guess will need a lot of modding to look the goods even with the M-sport kit..but then guess most luxury SUV"s are baby carriers so no time for aesthethics there. Besides improved space in the X3 I guess the looks will just have to grow on us rather then being attractive at first sight and at which the RR Evoque wins handsdown.

So this X3 v/s the agressively modern looks of this

evoque > X3. Same reasoning as bmroxm5.

here's the full interior but guess this ones built to chew dirt and lead a tough life. True, is a direct takeoff from the US model where they do it with petrol. Some more pics here

Its a car made for the taboulis. DJ Yallah will rock up to the nearest RSL in one of them i reckon. Think toyota definitely did a good job of targeting H3 customers.

You can't even compare the interior or drivetrain of the Toyota with the BMW. Though the FJ will keep going forever through the bush while the X3 will be stuck on the first bit of dirt.

The xDrive28i will be the first BMW to switch to the N20 2.0L turbo with 180kw/350nm which will be interesting.

Pretty sure the xDrive28i uses a 3litre NA 6cylinder..?

Maybe the N20 engine exists but just with a different model designation.

Nope, the N52B30 will only stay in the X3 until November this year. From then onwards, BMW will be slowly phasing out the I6 and replacing it with the 2.0 turbo.

The I6 NA will be expected to die at around mid 2012. R.I.P.

the evoque is all the better for being labeled as Range Rover rather than Land Rover too

I dunno you can do the same thing with something that looks less ridiculous.

Enter the G-class. To hell with drag co-efficient, fuel efficiency, and all other efficiencies.

Fj cruiser ain't for me. Jeep wrangler looks better imo. Even though they both look a bit like tonka toys, the wrangler has a slightly better executed contemporary thing going on.

Can't wait to check out the evoque in person. If it's priced right I'd seriously consider trading in for one lol. But due to my addictive personality, I'm guessing I'll be over it in 3-6months time.
Still, it'll be cool to be one of the early adopters. And I'd def go with 20s or 22s or something p-i-m-p like that.
