Over 450 miles range

Today, for the first time, my range display showed over 400 miles. Added to the 50 I'd already done it means that the car thought I'd average either 33.5 or 38.5 mpg (not sure if it includes the reserve in the range). Either way, not bad compared to the 24.1 mpg that my average is showing.

I blame the 50 mph speed limits on today's journey for the unusual frugality. Normal service will be resumed tomorrow with plenty of unnecessary, but hugely fun, acceleration with the windows open.

When I had my RX-8 I remember there was an ongoing thread for the "300 mile club". I didn't come close, the fuel light usually came on at 200. Quite scary given that the fuel tank was the same size as the 3.

Hey, I haven't got anywhere near the grunt or go of the 335 but my range after fill up yesterday said 750. I'm loving that after my last car (R32) would leave me dry after 300 miles.

RRS...best its ever got is 302 miles full tank. Average it gives is about 250/260.

335d...gets about 330 miles on average. My m3 gave 280/290, pretty impressive considering I gave it the beans every opportunity

I had an EP3 civic Type R about 5 years ago and it got around 230 miles from a tank driving in a casual fashion!! It got as low as 170miles between fill ups if I was driving it as it was intended!

yeah - that extra turbo on the 335d - sure made it thirsty - over the reasonably frugal 330d i had before

That's about the same as I got in my EP3... on one tank though I went on a mission to see what the car could achieve and managed about 330 miles. Was so dull though ;-)

Presume that was on a motorway?!

I can't get any more than about 550 miles out of a tank on my 318D, with average of about 380-450 and about 36mpg!

Hi. I'm doing about 650 miles per week and 80% of that is motorway. If I take it easy and keep an eye on the swing'o'meter I can average 54mpg on the week. As soon as I get a bit heavy and let it rev above 2k, that drops to mid 40's. I reckon I can easily get 650 miles per tank over a week.

I used to play the "enjoy listening to the glorious sound of the V6 3.2" game in my R32 and now I enjoy playing the "See how high I can get the MPG" game.

Boring!!!

yeah, i used to play the "drive like mi gran!" game in my old 330d and could get around 50mpg

but as soon as you gave it a bit more gas to overtake a milkfloat it was down to its usual 38mpg

Mine is 09 LCI. I really I'm trying but struggling to get above 54mpg. I live in West Yorkshire and have some serious hills to deal with. But my commute is West Yorkshire to Blackpool and back each day so enough 'cruising' and thought that I would get 60mpg no problem?

I drove to work like a saint yesterday (m40, m25 and m23 - 90 miles) averaged 40.3mpg!! Drove the same on the way home but due to heavy traffic dropped down to 38.7mpg over all 180 miles. Obc is still saying 360 miles remaining!

335i rocks fact...

Bloody impressive for a 335i. Good one. Bet you were going at the same pace as my 318d?

Yep standard Friday morning keeping up with traffic but not exceeding 70mph.. way home 5pm was stop start between A3 and M40 so that hurt the average.

Be good to see if I can get 500 miles out of the tank, best upto now is 450miles without trying too hard, ps mine is a manual.

Just took some pics..
