Car jumps all around when i hit bumps. Shocks bad?
My car is lowered and im not sure with what springs. I just bought the car . It looks great and handles well unless i hit a bump and the car bounces all over the place and does not feel safe. Are the springs bad?

Shocks are bad. If it has lowering springs and still has stock shocks it will feel really bad. Find out
1. What shocks it has 2. What springs. Regardless sounds like you need new shocks, but it will be hard to tell which choices without knowing what springs are on there. If you just get new stock shocks you'll have the same problem sooner or later. |

Your shocks could be going out. You could replace the shocks, or get coilovers. Tires play a big part in how your car will handle as well though, so maybe check out what tires you're rolling on as well.

If you are outside your car and push down on the bumper (either end), then release- does the car bounce once and settle (good) or bounce a couple of times (bad)?

With stock shocks + stiffer lowering springs, the springs are more under-damped than the shocks are "bad". What that means is they will bounce around like on a pogo stick esp over sharper small bumps. Eventually this wears the shocks out faster (seals mainly as each bump cycles many times instead of once). This is not apparent from pushing down the corner of the car and letting go, which is the standard test for worn shocks. The springs are just too stiff for the shocks, assuming you have lowering springs and stock shocks, or stock replacement shocks.

Does it have OEM bumpstops? I had a lot of problems with my lowered car being super-stiff till I put on shorter bumpstops.

Sounds like shocks - what's their mileage? Could be suspension part[s] - last checked? Last alignment? Tire pressure? Slammed or portion thereof? Need data.... |

I have this same problem and I can't seem to figure out the problem... I started to feel it when I replaced my two rear tires, I got my car balanced and aligned and it still didn't fix the problem.. Let me know if you find a solution!

It's not often that it happens but it can that simply mismatched tires make everything go to heck in a handbasket. |

Enough said. The car is lowered past it's roll center. THAT, is your problem.

You probably have lowering springs on stock shocks. Nothing a set of koni yellow dampers or a new coilover setup wouldn't fix.
