Canadian Driver M3 Test: Mentions M3 Wagon

Not sure if they are just speculating, but the article mentions the possibility of an E91 M3.

I would be the first to line up if there was an E91 M3!

why would someone buy the M3 Wagon???

the word "performance" does not fit into the same sentence with "capacity"?!?

You might as well ask why someone would buy an M3 coupe instead of a Lotus Elise. Or why they'd buy an Elise instead of an Ariel Atom. Or why they'd buy an Ariel Atom instead of a superbike...

Some of us still want the performance in a practical vehicle that drives like a car. Think of the E91 M3 as the ultimate sleeper.

An M3 wagon would sell well in Europe I'm sure. I have a doubt it would sell here in North America, as it appears station wagons are deemed repulsive by many, although by far not as badly as minivans.

The smaller wagons I find can look sporty while being practical, like the Audi A3. But that's more of an extended hatch-back than "wagon".

I'd take an S4 avant or M3 touring over a crappy handling SUV anyday. Even a Cayenne.

Why do they build a Cayenne Turbo, GC SRT-8, ML63, X5 4.8iS, Magnum SRT-8, Mazdaspeed 3, '08 STI? Many of which outperform the 335 in one aspect or another.

Here are other examples we don't get:

OK, so many rhetoric posts.

Please show me one (1) E36 M3 wagon, E46 M3 wagon, or E91 M3 on the street.
Please also tell me the last time you saw one (1) E36 M3 wagon, E46 M3 wagon, or E91 M3 on the street.

Just because BMW makes it, doesn't mean people will buy it.

What is a "rhetoric post"?

It would be difficult to see an E36, E46 or E91 M3 wagon on the streets since none of them exists. The E91 M3 will probably make it into production in Europe, and if the stars align might come to North America, which I and many others think would be fantastic. Not sure why you find this prospect so upsetting.

OK, I will make a bold prediction here on this forum.

BMW will never sell enough E91 M3s to justify continuing production for 3 years.

Point taken. There is nothing worse than waiting at airports...

As far as I know they never made any E36 wagon M or non-M. I think the first wagon 3 series was the on the E46 platform but no M wagon E46 alas.

Just because the concept of an E91 M3 doesn't appeal to you, doesn't mean it is the same for others. We all are deifferent with different taste and it makes the world a more interesting place.

Cheers.

Jeff

Good to know. I'd rather have a 335i touring though.

Likewise. Most SUV's are four-wheel-drive minivans in my eyes! I'd chose a 5 Series XI wagon over an X5, but that's just me.

330d / 335d touring would also be good.
