I've never heard of swat training for civilian's but check your local pd because there's usually free training classes that civilian's can attend.

If your thinking of doing swat your going to need to join a police department for the required experience.

Yea, that was my other questions. Like, is it true you must be a police officer first then apply for SWAT? or they can draft you if you have amazing reputation and resume?

I check, around here and googled and found nothing. I found one SWAT camp in Arizona but its nothing with law enforcement its a workout to lose weight.

Theirs only 2 extreme boot camps here which only deals with cardio nothing special.

I wanted somthing to travel to for like a week and experience what they expeiernce in combat training, etc..

All SWAT are CPO's that are hired with a department I believe. If you just want to train, go to your local boot camp.

You generally need several years as a law enforcement officer to then apply for a SWAT team.

Yup, it's generally 2-3 years depending on the department before you can be considered to go into a "specialty" program such as SWAT.

The local boot camps are a joke. They just run miles up and down. I want to get down and dirty.

Truthfully, SWAT, Marines, etc learn those types of tactics to stay alive in life or death situations. Join your local Jujitsu or Judo if you're looking for heavy body to body contact.

Theirs a Brazalian Jujitsu down my street. My 16 old brother went and he liked it but he said it was nothing crazy. It was basic punch and jump, which is cool no disrespect.

But I wanted to join a camp where I can gain some knowledge and have a small taste of how the bog boys play (close combat, firarms, cardio, weight lifting, eating, etc..).

Not to be an asshole, but I honestly wish I can sign up for SWAT just for the trainning and they take me thats all for now.

You have to learn the basics first before you fight someone. It's training. Even if you were to join SWAT the first couple weeks is intense conditioning, mostly running irregardless. Look up on Youtube what SWAT training's Physical Ability test is like just to be considered. You have to be in prime shape to even be invited. Training PO's to become SWAT takes alot of money and time. If you want to get down and dirty so badly, join the marines and from there go to the navy SEALS. Then you'll really get your "down and dirty."
