2ABE Error, MIL and Burning Smell
Hey E90 Members!
I have an issue with my '08 320i I first noticed a burning smell about a month ago whenever I pushed the car (lots of quick acceleration). I jumped into INPA and reset all codes hoping that whatever the issue was would show up again. Earlier this week my MIL came on and the only code I can find is under the DME/DDE category is listed as 2ABE. So far I haven't found any reference to what that might mean, can someone shed some light on it for me please? It's not coming up in lists of error codes so maybe I have something configured wrong in my INPA install... There's no obvious signs of issues when checking under the bonnet. Also I'm away from the car for another 2 days but I was hoping to get a heads up on what I can / should do so I can hit the ground running when I get back. If it helps at all, my brothers '06 320i seems to have a lot more throttle response to mine... not sure if that's related to this issue. Any help would be thoroughly appreciated. Thanks, Ruvan P.S. I've posted this issue in another forum and will update this post if I can find a solution. |

what DME does the 320i run? 2ABE isn't in any of the MSV70 or MSV80 dumps I have. but, those are US DME's.
INPA should say what the error code was. What did the text say? |

Hey Guys, Thanks for the responses. Over the weekend I jumped back in and can confirm that the code reads 2ABE.
hassmaschine I'm not sure how to get you the model / version DME that I run :/ I've attached a pic of the read out if it helps. @andrey_gta Thanks! I'll check them out. |
