Coding advice FRM3

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone can give me some advice on an issue I have with my side / fender indicators? Basically, after doing a FRM coding session a while back I notice a few days later that the side indicators were not working. Both the front and rear ones still work and blink at correct speed, no faults. After doing a FRM reset when retrofitting cic and combox, this still didn't cure the issue and have tried a replacement used FRM which I was told I could just plug in and test the indicators without coding to see if this was fried. Unfortunately, this didn't work either and have tested the wiring back to the FRM for a positive feed and it is at zero. This made me think has the FRM switched it off via light counter but this wasn't the issue either. Therefore I am at a bit of a loss what to do? I know I can splice into the front indicator wiring to bridge the problem but would like to do it the correct way rather than bodge.....

Anyone got any thoughts??

Are you sure the side indicators were working before your coding session?

It seems unlikely coding is at fault if you have returned the FRM3 to default.

Have tested voltage at the bulb end?

Is the FRM3 a retrofit? Pins correct? Also what year and model is this?

Thanks for reply. Lights were working before coding. Tested voltage at bulb end and no power shown. It is a FRM3 retrofit on a 55 plate e90. When you say pins correct, can you explain further?

Cheers

Hmmm, very strange.

Have you checked the actual bulbs?

When you coded back to default did you use expert mode profile?

To retrofit a frm3 on a 55 e90, side fender blinkers pin out need to be changed.

This is what I initially thought however the OP has stated this problem only presented itself after a superset coding session...

Gonna try another default reset and see if that does anything. Had a cic retrofit carried out and was told a reset was carried out afterwards but maybe need to do this again to be sure. Will post back at weekend.

Thanks

I've done a lot of this retrofits and most is them with 05,06 and some 07 cars, and on most of them I have changed the pins of side fender blinkers. Not all but most of them. On later cars with frm2 native, no change need.

Move pin 44 x14261 to pin 8 x14261 for the left side, and pin 11 x14260 to pin 32 x14261 for the right side

Thanks, much appreciated. Will check the wiring to see if this has been moved across when previous retrofit carried out. Worse case I will wire directly into fronts to cure.

Will post update once sorted.
