No offense but there's no way this will take 10000 watts rms. It has a 3.5" voice coil. I wouldn't give it much more than 2500. Kicker even lowered their rms rating from 5000 down to 3000.

kicker is known for underrating subs. But for each their own.

at 10k watts it would be almost unbearably loud.

No at 10k it will be unbearably quiet since the voice coil will fry almost instantly. There's no way a 3.5" voice coil can handle more than 3000 watts, if that. Kicker lowered the rms for a reason.

well you should buy it and give it a try. I have personally seen one of these running over 2500 watts RMS so I know it handles that without a problem. Its not out of the question to assume that momentary peaks of 3-4k watts are easily possible without harming the VC. The sub is an absolute beast

I should have phrased the power rating better in the OP. personally I would never take the sub up to a 10k watt peak or 5k rms but i was just saying that Kicker says it IS possible

I'm sure it can handle around 3000 watts I definitely wouldn't put more than that. Good luck with the sale though it's still a decent sub that can handle a good amount of power.
