330i E90 - Dukeys Build

Hi all, relative newbie to the forum so thought I'd take the chance to say hi and welcome you to my E90 330i build thread!

I had an E90 325d prior to this and started to do some subtle mods but then went to a track day at Croft Circuit and realized I cant live without petrol!

Ultimate goal with this build is to have a tastefully modded daily driver that can be taken on track and thrashed to its full potential!

If anyone has any advice or tips etc I would be glad to hear them.

Will get some pics up ASAP

So far I have only done a couple of small things, mainly bits taken off my 325d.

De-badged (previous owner was a fan of big M badges everywhere!)
Bmw Anthracite alloys, genuine MV3s
Heko wind deflectors
Little bit of coding

Hopefully to come this week, weather and time dependant:

Black Kidney grills,
Paint calipers and hubs (Horrible and rusty at the moment)
Vinyl wrap interior.

Yea the kidney grills really set it off, had them on my previous e90. Just looks strange IMO when there is no other chrome on the car.

Your car looks awesome, can tell it gets treated right! Very jealous of your garage!

Yea I had a good peruse through your thread, its a lovely looking car!
2 quick questions, 1. Was the duel feed Simota intake just for show or did it have any benefit over say the Afe intake and 2. Were your rear lights tinted or are they darklines?

So this weeks updates:

No photos of it but repaired a broken parking sensor where it had been pushed inside the bumper! PITA just to clip it back in but needed doing.

Hubs and calipers where horrible and rusty so used hammerite on the hubs (Direct to rust) and cleaned up the calipers and painted them with Caliper paint. I know the colour isn't everyones cup of tea but hey ho.

The interior was brushed aluminium but after 10 years neglect it was battered and scuffed so took the opportunity to freshen it up. Not sure if im going to stick with Carbon Fibre style wrap as it makes the interior very dark but will see.

Not sure on any advantage over the AFE, but what I did do I have the main feed taken from the kidneys using RPI scoops, and then the second feed from another vent (originally near the fog lights).

Rears were tinted with lamin-x, I think it was gun smoke.

Car is now long gone to a new owner.

Cheers pal, got a long way to go but progress is being made! The engine is lovely, feels bombproof and pulls like a devil! You have to work the gears to get the most out of it but its worth it for the smile it puts on your face!

Ok so a few things have been done since the last post!

1. Matt black kidney grills fitted.
2. 12mm pacers up front, 15mm spacers rear.
3. K&N drop in filter.
4. Carbon interior wrap with yellow piping. (Not sure if I'm keeping the yellow yet)
5. Depo projector headlights with led upgrade. The angel eyes will be getting swapped as already 2 of the bulbs have gone and the plastic housing has a blue tint which I hate!
6. Engine cover painted gloss black as I couldn't stand the grey monstrosity!
7. Mtec dimpled and grooved front discs with EBC redstuff pads.
8. Private plate finally fitted.

I am currently waiting for my BMW Performance exhaust to arrive, as well as the performance gear knob and gaiter and yellow RPI air scoops. Cannot wait to fit it all!

Quick update on whats been going on this month, spent an awful lot but definitely worth it! I now have an aftermarket headunit which I never thought I'd do to a BMW but I am very happy with it. BMW Performance exhaust is now fitted my god what a difference it makes. If anyone is on the fence deciding whether its a good option like I was the answer is YES!! And thanks to ********, new 313 reps have arrived and will be fitted on monday!
Will get some pics up once the wheels are done.

Pictures as promised, sorry for the delay!

Exhaust sounds amazing, wish I had spent less time thinking about it and just got it done! Only downer is that the garage haven't done a fantastic job aligning it and it sticks out too much.

Xtrons unit is spot on, I know a lot of people say its cheap and to steer clear however my MULF unit is knackered and this was an easy way of getting bluetooth handsfree back with some extras!

Not 100% sold on the wheels, still waiting for some centre caps so hopefully that will help. Think they would be better all one colour... will have to wait and see.

Thanks for looking

Very simple bud, just a plastic strip that fits inbetween the gaps on the trim.
