Morning all,
just checking to see how many miles you are getting out of a set of rear tires, i had the rears replaced Feb last year on on my wifes 318d with falken 452 after the run flats had worn out, now after checking them the weekend i was totally surprised to find them nearly worn out about 2.5mm left so that means they have done about 9k, is this about normal from falken or do you think there is problem some where.

They are soft, I think mine are suffering after only about 2k.

But they are cheap as chips though.

Not sure what the wear rating is, it should say on the tyre wall, then you can compare it with other tyres.

i got less than 10k miles for the rears, gone thru 2 sets of rft....but i drive with all traction control off...

Not had personal experience but from quite a few reports I've read, people do seem to report that they seem to wear out rather quickly. You do have to remember they are a mid range tyre and I guess you get what you pay for, not that I'm saying all premium tyres are brilliant either. Perhaps it's a bit of a false economy though if they wear out arkedly quicker than other tyres.

Mine are doing pretty well, similar wear rate to the Goodyear F1's they replaced. Now at about 16k miles, with 4mm tread remaining.

Certainly better than the 'premium' Bridgestone tyres which were worn down in about 14k miles.

We'll always see extremes of wear rates anyway, for any given tyre, always have done.

Surprised a 318d will knock them off so fast, but some of it will depend on how the OP drives and on what roads.

yep 318d not exactly tyre shredding power, its the wifes car so manly town driving to school, work etc and the odd long journey so shouldn't be to hard on the tyres.

I wore my rear 452s down to the wear bars (and beyond) in about 10k of virtually all motorway miles.

I know they're cheap but for the same price I'm trying Kumhos this time, see how they fare.

I had 452's on a 535d and they lasted 22k miles, mainly motorway.

I do mainly motorway but mine have lasted about 10k. Only bought them in February ..

I don't intentionally toast them, but big torque will spin em up without too much provocation.
