Brake Fluid Service? You what?
OK, so within 5 minutes of supposedly getting a puncture, I need to have a brake fluid service?
Are they taking the piss? I've looked in the service menu and next month I'm supposed to have my microfilter done. Is that how twatty BMW servicing works? In to the stealer each month for a service? What the hell?! Even more annoyingly, I've looked on the service reset mcdoobry, and it doesnt show there? ANyone know how much I'm looking at for the Brake Fluid service? Or shall I just frikkin leave it till november when the oils due? |

Brake fluid should only be about £60 or less from an independent. |

I just had to do the same thing. I am in the US though. I paid $140 after tax for the brake fluid flush and they told me my microfilter needed to be changed also for $110+ tax but I declined that one.

Yea.. that's why I declined. I saw filters for $27 shipped and had the cowl out the day prior putting my stock airbox back in for the dealer visit. I really don't know how the dealerships arrive at the price to replace those filters.

I get the whole "condition based servicing" thing, but judging by the onboard service indicator, I should be having three different services in the next 6 months? Thats a total ballache, my SLK also had condition based servicing, but it was always done at decent intervals, they didnt feel the need to give me three services a year
I gotta be honest, after the whole purchase debacle, the turbo failures, the seat failures, new diff and bearings, the cracked alloy and now the idiotic puncture problem, I'm not enjoying this car any more Wish I'd bought the fecking CLK320 Sport now. |

Better to be disappointed about servicing than driving an old barge...
You really need to take a step back and check perspective, it's not three services a year, it's one service every 15000-ish miles broken down into three-or-so stages. Granted those other problems would probably have anyone on a downer about a car but the servicing is actually better this way once you get used to it. Maybe think of it as a £400 service in three interest-free installments.

No you don't
Brakes ever 2 years - its just a time thing. Microfilter - do it yourself and the timing is far from important. Just reset yourself.

I'll do the filter myself, piece of cake, but I think mechanical stuff is best left to the guys with BMW spanners. I think I'm just sulking because the cars been a fucking ballache from day one. |

But every car in the world with hydraulic brakes needs the fluid changing every 2 years regardless of mileage. You just need to group services together maybe oil a bit early or brakes a bit late. Thats all that would be happening with regular fixed intervals |

Exactly. Particularly for the brake fluid, it's not suddenly going to cause your brakes to fail. It's annoying that the dealer didn't notice and offer to do it all at the same time, but you could have checked yourself and asked
