Not sure. The gunmetal steel pearlescent powder coat color has some bluish tones to it - maybe that's why. Then again, the powder used in powder coating is in fact plastic (thermoplastic).

Black cars do indeed look great when clean. My last 335i was sapphire black. I used to get mad as hell when it rained...LoL, but a nice coat of pinnacle usually made it all good...

I've seen this car in person while it was dirty and still dropped my jaw. Beautiful is an understatement. This car is GORGEOUS. This is by far my favorite e90.
