A STOCK 335i beats the RS4 around VIR!!!
The arguments about a Proceded 335i vs. the RS4 have raged and seem to have died down. Well it is time for them to rage again!
Car and Driver did their 2nd "Lightening Lap," where they test all kinds of different cars at Virginia Int. Speedway's 4.2 mile circuit. Low and behold a STOCK 335i with manual and sport suspension was 1 second FASTER than an RS4!!!! It was also 1 second faster than an M Z4 Coupe!!!! "The 335i was nearly perfectly balanced everywhere and made up most of its time in the region between the braking zone and turn apex. The 335i dfoes everything remarkably well, which is why many of us at Car and Driver think it's the best all around car in the world." Enough said!

There is noy Joy in Audiworld, the mighty RS4 has struck out! Just wait for the new M3 to kick sand in the RS4's face, except in the rain or snow. BTW, who needs LSD?

I love my 335 sedan but, doesn't anyone think that the M Z coupe would be a little better into the brake zone and through the apex because its lighter weight and jii-normous brakes? I don't doubt that outta the apex the 3 is gunna pull way harder with it's tq curve.

Think what kind of butt whooping it would be with a Proceded 335i? I know you can upgrade an RS4, but not 40RWHP for $1300. The 335i is just a phenomenal car for the price.

I've known for quite awhile the 335i is probably the best all around car in the world, price dependent. My budget was $75K and I could get anything I wanted from an Exige up through an AMG E55, and the 335i was the best combination of everything, including its ability to hold its own on any type of track.

So let me get this straight the porky, less powerful, slower, softer braking, and softer suspension 335i beat a Z4 M around a track by 1 second. Wow, I am so glad my subscription to Car and Driver ends this month, because I will not be asking for another 12 months. I mean I've read some BS in my life, but now Car and Driver thinks they can re-invent physics. They must of forgot to release the parking brake on the Z4 M.
