Grew some Cajones.
Finally had the balls to paint my calipers and hubs!
I used a drill with a wire wheel and an angle grinder to get the rust off. I used Duplicolor caliper paint on everything. Did it all without removing the calipers. I learned a few things if anyone was considering it. I had a can of duplicolor spray, and a can of paint. My original plan was to spray the hubs, and paint the calipers with a brush. After I realized how much work it would have been to tape off the car, I decided to brush everything. I thought I was so clever, I would just spray the paint into a Solo cup (you know, the ones from college) and use a brush. All went well until about 5 minutes into it when the damn paint melted the cup! Holy hell, I cringe to think about what would have happened if I had set that cup on my car! That was the only SNAFU. Everything else went great. If you have an afternoon, I would recommend doing it. Hopefully it takes care of the beating the tires off of the hub problem. Before: After Grinding: After Paint: Wheel back on. (yes, I have bad curb rash) |

Everyone should paint their calipers!
Nice job OP, everyone should paint there calipers. After all, any color is better than that ugly rust color!
I did mine as well (except in red):

The brake pad is pressed against the rotor. Even if you got paint on it, it will burn off immediately when you press the brakes.

David, what brand of spray paint did you use? I might be doing a set here real soon, and I like how yours came out.
