Meth Tank Trunk Mount
Disclaimer: No Jeff, the trunk mount is NOT because of safety… jk.
Thought I would post a quick thread on my meth alterations to the trunk today. Basically I followed FBI’s DIY. Some pics below. The main reason for doing this was plumbing and wanting to move my nozzle location to the IC pipe to be more upstream. My thought is that this would give me better cylinder distribution. It seems to have helped… see the trim logs. I didn’t get a chance to do extensive logging, but the results are encouraging so far. I ran the meth line and wires under the car... still need to pretty up the wiring a little. I have the Vishnu PWM kit. Moved the tank and pump to the trunk as FBI. I flipped the FAV to the other side of the mount for better access to the IC pipe. Logs are: 1) No meth 2) Tapped stock charge pipe 3) Tapped IC pipe |

My be a noob question but why the caution on mounting meth in the trunk? Any performance difference or safety issues?

Fan of trunk mount. Not a fan of its location in the trunk but I understand why you did it. Nonetheless, good job on the relocation. Smart thing to do. Respect.

So this is the PWM kit with a stock charge pipe and meth elbow? Just want to ensure I am seeing things clearly.
I think it's a nice setup overall. Proven kit with a trunk mount. EDIT. Missed it. Tapped the IC pipe. Sorry. Good job though. |

Gotcha but what is the issue that makes it start a fire being placed in the trunk...how does it happen.

The snow tank is pre-tabbed with an insert so you have 1/8 or 3/8 npt thread options. It also comes with a 90deg fitting that was useless for me so I ordered DO 1/8th to push fit from Jeff, so I will blame him if it leaks. I'm sure you can order the tank with straight fitting from Snow, but I ordered through Summit and didn't see this fitting on Snow website, but i'm sure they have it.
I tested the fittings in the kitchen over night and everything seemed solid. Used Goop on the plastic insert and dry for the DO fitting since it has an o-ring. |

I would run it through the plastic belly pan like I did and JoshBoody did. If you ever have a leak, it will poor into this plastic pan and not on the metal/electronics where you are looking.
