best choice to replace runflats
Hi, since I am frustrated after having 2 tires already disabled, I am ready to go non runflat . What are the best choices in terms of durability and resistance to damage from potholes ? 335 sedan 162s Thanks

Michelin PS2's
I just changed-out my RF's for the Michelin's and the results are incredible. Had no idea how the RF's degraded the ride and handling of my 330.

Falken FK452, for a budget/performance choice.

There are SOOOO many different options out there that I think it really comes down to your budget at the end of the day to help narrow down your search. From there you can decide what else you need in a tire (ie. all season, max dry grip, high treadwear, etc). I would say that pothole damage isn't going to vary all that much from one tire to another given that they are the same size.

sumitomo htz III very highly rated at tirerack and reasonable priced
goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric very highly rated and closer to the best Michelin PS2 the best but in the 18' staggered very expensive and do wear well that is my research when I am ready to dump the fun flats |

I got Pirelli P Zero Nero's from Tire Rack.....first they were kinda soft, then i realized that coming from run-flats, everything is softer and smoother. they are slowly being broken in and after 100 miles more should be running well in terms of feel for me. good deal from tirerack - closeout sale.

I'm a big fan of the Goodyear F1 Eagles (GSD3) I have them in 19", and am very pleased.

Thank you Gary! I will probably wait for some more reviews before I choose between the Sumitomo htz III and the Goodyear F1 asymmetric.
The Sumitomo prices out for 550 for 18" staggered set up on my coupe. The Goodyears prices out for 892 for the same. Hmmmmmmmm And the Michelins PS2 (BMW puts on the M3) 1,068. Ouch! |

I think once you got non-RFT stiffer springs will bring the handling back. I just put Toyo T1Rs on and I did notice a difference in performance. Yes they were a little softer over rough stuff, but they were a little "lazy' off center. Nothing that driving for a bit won't get rid of but there is a slight negative side since the car was tuned for rocks (RFT).

i got some fk-452's the only problem one year ago blowout at 75mph 5 days before july 4th. only one place in town (as in the whole metro area) had one they could get in a few hours. the rest of the folks told me 1-2 weeks. good tire but make sure you have a spare if they are not abundant in your area.
