Steps to enable 6NR (apps) on CIC

I'm already 6FL (usb port) and 6VC (combox) on my 609 (nav) stock, but I want to enable BMW Apps. What steps do I need to take?

Is it as simple as add the VO for $6NR (apps) to CAS and NFRM modules and a CIC code for something like "REMOTE_APPS"? If anyone has a quick simple step guide, that would be great!

Additionally, how can I check if I'm lucky to have the version that has the free install vs. 6NR FSC? Also my prod date is 2011/05.

Thank you!

Just an update. I added the 6NR to my VO and coded in A4A_REMOTE_APPS and I did indeed get the BMW Assist menu so it looks like an I need a 6NR FSC. Where can I acquire such a thing? Unless I missed something and I can avoid that!

What version level of CIC do you have in NCS Expert?

I think the latest version without the need for FSC is CIC.C16, anything higher than 16 needs an FSC - I may be wrong with this but this is what I recall when coding mine, mine is C16 and worked without FSC.

Regarding getting an FSC, I am not sure of the process but I think it needs to obtained from somewhere, BMW, forum member (cheaper), and downloaded and uploaded to the CIC.

Someone more in the know will be able to confirm...

Sadly it looks like C1A with $6NR on VO.

Everything is still working which is great I just really want Apps :P On the hunt for 9C plus import process.

Hit up forum vendor Bimmer tech, less pricey than the dealer.

Only if you are willing to teach. I'm not really looking to pay someone for this as a service.

6NR

OP, would you mind walking me through what you did to add the 6NR to your VO, which modules did you write this too?

I'm looking to do the same now on my 10 e92 M3, hoping I'm just before they brought in the FSC code!

Thanks

BEFORE doing, you have to know your CiC version software:
To do start NCS Expert Mode, then F3-F1-F3 chose eg CAS and OK.
Then F6(back) then ''Chose ECU'' (CiC) OK and clic on the right Radio button which is ''Read ECU''. Close your Netodata file.
You will see your CIC.Version, if between CiC.C13 to CiC.C16 you can add $6NR in your FA without buying a FSC.
This FA must be added on 2 ECU : CAS and NFRM doing after chosing the ECU a ''FA write'' Job.
Then change of ECU and chose CiC and then Combox to do a SG_Codieren Job on each. After coding it will restart and in the Main Menu you will see entering in ConnectedDrive the option BMW Apps.

Wrong (upper) Version is FSC.
Other way is to Flash the CiC to C16 Version(=V41) using WinKfp, if drowngrading it is Expert Mode mandatory, +++ see the right thread before doing that !
Also mandatory HW are: ICOM B channel (optical) and a PSU able to give 70-90A at least over 13V, if not flash can be interrupted without warning, and can definitevely break your ECU.
So if you don't have the knowledge, better to go to a skilled one who already knows how to.
PS : 2010 car, you can have the right one if your built date is between 03 and 09/2010.
