ismithnc-since your car is almost around the same as mine..what is your status now?

I just called and it is still at the port of exit. And I also ponder that when the date is given...ie: "Your car will complete production on xx-xx-07, is the time frame east coast or western time. I have officially become obsessed and call the 1-800 number 3-5 times a day

My car status changed to En-rout today on the website. Anyone have an Idea what ship it is on bound for the left coast?

Congrats! I'm still on the dock according to 800#. I noticed there seems to be an extra NYK ship sailing on the 10th according to the german website. So are you on WW or NYK?

808E46M3...I think I'm righ there with you. As of 1/11, the 1-800 number went from "transferring to port of exit" to "released to carrier yada yada yada".
Now is the hard part..being waited for a ship at the dock

Thanks Guys,

I actually called my dealer yesterday and found out the name of the ship, it's on the MAERSK TIDE. The tracker is way more accurate though, it says it was loaded on Jan 5th. The dealer says it should arrive at Port Hueneme on 24the Jan. I'm chompin at the bit! Thanks again for the info!

I dont know if this has been mentioned in this thread, but if you buy a car that needs to be ordered, it has a priority when its loaded on the ship and has a faster processing time at the VPC than if the car were going to dealership stock.

I was told (by me CA) the car would be at the dealership no later than 72 hours from when the boat is docked... Keep in mind, I live in VA which is relatively close to the VPC on the east coast...

the 800 number says my car is waiting at the port and has not been assigned a ship yet... how long does that usually take? If i've looked things up right there are like 4 ships leaving port in the next week or so coming to the west coast

It still says that for my car ... which left the VPC today. Best bet is to poke your VIN into the tracking feature on the shipper's web site. (I know this works for right coast shipping by Wallenius-Wilhelmsen; not sure about left coast and NYK.)

What does VPC stand for? That's good to know that we have priority. My car has been at the dock waiting for a shipping vessel since the 12th. The 1-800 number still isn't updated. I'll try the VIN thing on the ships websites when I get back from Vegas, hehe. The internet is just as addicting as gambling is, thus why I'm online now

I finally got my production number on Monday. Someone backed out of their order. I'm in status 112 anyday now and the car is going to be built.

I ordered my car on Friday. On Saturday my CA e-mailed me the production number. How much longer until something shows up on the Owners Circle? So far, it just says the production number doesn't show up in their database.

Mine worked right away when I got it. It'll probably show up either Monday or Tuesday. Try calling the 800# first thing monday morning to check. Probably just delayed because of the weekend.

I have a production number from the dealer, but it isn't showing up on OC. The e-mail he sent says it is still in the order bank. Would that explain why it's not showing up? I thought if you had a production number, you weren't in the order bank?

Try calling the 800-831-1117, say "Vehicle Production Status" and follow the prompts. It will tell you if the production number is not valid. It could be your # is for a future month's allocation (March?) that hasn't been setup yet by BMW? Just a guess - I don't really know for sure. Best bet is to call the 800#.
