Startup problem

Hey guys, I drive an 07 328xi n I have had a startup problem 3 times in the past couple days. Basically when I push to start, the car doesnt turn on but sounds almost like that sound when u try and start your car while it\'s already on..but fainter..any thoughts?? I\'m thinking I may have a starter issue or my dying battery is on its last leg..
