Sydney Visitor
Hey guys, I will be in Sydney in a couple of weeks. I am visting from the states and we are staying at the Four Seasons near the Rock District.
I have researched restaurants and found Cafe Sydney as a great place to eat. Any other recommendions for great seafood close to where we will be staying? I saw mixed reviews on Wildfire. We are also climbing a bridge but other than that should have about three days of free time. We are going to Queenstown, NZ first and I am really looking forward to Australia. I am sorry this does not have to do much about cars, but I do have a 335i with a Procede tune. Thanks |

Hi David,
Sounds like a nice holiday. Wildfire is a very popular one, but I haven't been there. Here are some ideas. I think they are all good in this price range, so it depends what you like. http://www.altitudesydney.com/ Top of shangrila hotel. I wasn't able to book at 1 weeks notice but I look forward to trying it. http://www.oceanroomsydney.com/ Quite interesting and delicious japanese influenced fusion style - if you like that kind of thing. It is next to wildfire. http://www.coastrestaurant.com.au Very professional and has and excellent service, but the others might offer a bit more atmosphere. It is located at cockle bay wharf at the eastern side of Darling Harbour so its a brief taxi ride away from your hotel Last edited by John_01; 04-21-2009 at 11:19 PM.. |

A couple of suggestions:
1. For the best sushi in Sydney - sushi e - www.merivale.com/establishment/sushie Sushi e is 5 min walk from your hotel at the Four Seasons and one of my favourite places to eat in Sydney (mostly client lunches, but also good for dinner) - great cocktail bar next to the sushi. 2. Aria restaurant is also nice - just opposite the entrance to the opera house - www.ariarestaurant.com/ 3. Coast Not too bad, but it is, as mentioned above, a bit lacking in atmosphere. 4. For Italian food - go to beppi's - www.beppis.com.au/ A short cab ride from the Four Seasons (10mins) but well worth the trip. If you go, try to get a booking to sit in the wine cellar Enjoy your visit! |

well i dont have any recommendations but you can check www.eatability.com.au and just do a search on the area or any of the places that one of the members have mentioned and there should be some reviews and ratings from people who have tried the places
hope that helps buddy |

Agree with MrBBQwer also - Makoto is great for a quick lunch/dinner - sushi train style (spider rolls (soft shell crab) are excellent). Sushi e is more formal. |

Sushi e would be one of the more high end sushi bars in sydney.
I haven't been there for ages though. http://www.merivale.com.au/#/establishment/sushie For quality Japanese I sometimes go to Shiki in the rocks. The food is very good and the service is professional too. http://sydney.citysearch.com.au/E/V/...3/44/35/1.html There is also Yuki's at the quay. They have completely revised the menu a couple of times. From Fusion->traditional->Fusion again. I haven't tried that latest incarnation. Sometimes it seems like you are paying for the view more than the service. English language isn't really their strong point. http://www.yukis.com.au/ |

Just thought I would give a quick follow up to my visit to Queenstown/Arrrowtown, NZ
and Sydney. New Zealand is certainly a breathtaking place; we went to Milford Sound, took jet boats down the Dart River and the Shotover and took a tour on the Enslaw steamship. Sydney was very nice - The Four Seasons is a great location and we climbed the Sydney Harbor Bridge, went on a private tour of the Opera House, walked around the botanical gardens and Rock area and probably ate more than I ever had in my entire life! Places we ate: Cafe Sydney, Doyle's on the Beach, Spice I am and a pizza place situated on a corner a few blocks from the Four Seasons (there are tables outside along the sidewalk.) I did see a blue 335i coupe parked just outside the pizza place that had a Boston Red Sox sticker in the rear window! We had a great time and thanks for helping me out with the suggestions! Dave |

if you're on corp expense, you can go to tetsuya - they were on the top 100 restuarants in the world list from memory
