I just had my interior trim wrapped with 1080 cf and boy does it look sharp with my oyster and black interior!!!

What products are you guys using protect your 3m 1080 carbon fiber wrap against scratches.

Also what are you using to clean it?


Yes I searched the google and the e90post site and didn't see anything specific to 1080 cf wrap protectant nor cleaning products.

I use the armor all protectant wipes. Then I wipe off excess with a micro fiber towel. Seems to work well for me. Not really sure what you can use to protect against scratches at all though.

Kinda reviving an old post here, BUT! I came across your post when researching into doing this for my car. I've noticed the cf12 kinda scratches easily and wanted to know if you found a sealant or protectant at all that worked and probably ended up giving it a nice shine too. Would like to see some installed pics too if you got em.

I notice that after a few months the carbon fiber gets a little dull. So I've been using the McGuires Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer recommended by 3m (see above link) and it brings back a great shine and. It's a little slick which i'd assume protects against scratches. No scratches so far.

You can't help, but scratch vinyl. Think of if you can scratch something like paint (which is more durable), then how can you not scratch vinyl?

Also, think of it in this case, scratches are sort of like groves/pits into your paint. You fix that by polishing, which levels out the clear coat and minimizing those groves/pits.

For paint, there's such things as "fillers," which covers up the scratches, but once you wash the car, the fillers would come off and you'd see the scratches again.
