It’s easy to look back and see all the signs, I have bought cars overseas before but always from private people and never had any problems at all. I guess I thought by buying from a dealer they would be more straight up and no scamming, but I guess I was wrong big time and have now learned a lesson.
Salvage is not a problem, I have bought salvage before and also friends and people I know too and mostly it’s decent or even spotless repairs. I guess a repair by a pro repair shop as Silvio Gallone aka Convoy Motors LLC claimed he was I thought it would be a decent repair. I’m so angry as I payed pretty much for this car, not really call it a GREAT deal. I guess I was more concern to not lose my deposit and own a bmw that I didn’t think twice. Today I wish I lost the deposit instead of buying a car from this scammer. |

Do you mind sharing the exact car with options you got along with the price (before you "fixed" it.) Just curious how much you were trying to save from a salvaged vehicle. For instance, I purchased three months ago a 2006 325 heated/power seats for 17,400. No salvaged title and still had warranty remaining.

“Caveat emptor" is always the first rule of buying a used car, even with a CLEAN title. What were you thinking buying a car with a salvage title sight unseen (and putting down such a large deposit in the first place)? You should have posted here for advice BEFORE you did it.

It sucks that you got taken. However, if you had 7k cash to put down on the car and were able to speand another 6K cash on repairs after taking delivery as you noted, I am really, really unclear why you were looking at a salvaged vehicle.

$7k should have been the whole payment for that car with a salvage title, not only a down payment. What year, model and how many miles on the car?

Salvage title = run, don't walk, away as fast as you can. Salvage always means (a) the cost to fix is worth more than the car or (b) damage is so bad car cannot be fixed properly.
I bought a car via e-mail once, but it was a CPO from a BMW dealer about 6 hours away. $500 deposit. Dealer was willing to extend the 3-day return from the day it arrived at my house. I ended up flying out., picking it up, and driving back. LOVED the car. |

^ +100. There is no such thing as a decent repair on a minor damaged car when dealing with salvaged vehicles.

Beware of this guy from convoy motors Sylvio Gallone. He is a cheater and crook. He betrays ppl with salvage vessels and pretends he sells "perfectly repaired cars...
i had to spend more than 7000 Euro to get the purchased car really perfectly repaired.... could not get a hold of him here in germany.... but everybody who thinks about buying a car from this dude.. STAY AWAY !! i can show lots of pics who show how he works.... if i would have drove the car on the road, it would have been life dangerous.... hope he will feel some handcuffs soon .... This?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-3...t_47114wt_1165 Why not call ebay and work something out with them? Also, why do they still have 100% feedback? |
