Fuel additives?
Hi
has anybody had any sucess with those fuel additives that claim to clean the engine and fuel system? I don't have a problem but is it worth a try just for preventative reasons. I used to use STP octane booster in my turbo'd RX8 and it worked instantly to reduce knocking and claims to clean as well so was thinking about trying a tank of that. Although I allways use v-power or momentum so octane boost might not be necessary/agood idea. What are your thoughts? Nick |

I'm sure there is a sign not to use them.
I've used them in previous cars and one or two work well. With the fear of the hpfp possibly being more prone to failure due to certain additives in petrol, I just worry the fuel additives might cause an issue. |

No cleaning effect in a direct injection engine like 335i.
How much boost are you running to need more than 100ron? Meth injection is a far better solution..

It says so on the fuel cap as a graphic - additives crossed out.

Well that settles that then. Thanks for the advice.
I'm only running an evolve stage 1 so no need for 100+ ron. I'll stick to the V-power and Momentum |
